First dance class 1977.
Studied Classical Ballet with teachers from Scottish and Royal Ballets in Glasgow and London. BA(Hons) Laban Centre London. Worked in UK and Internationally as performer since 1994. Current choreographic work 'Dummy' in Collaboration with NRLA Tramway and CCA (centre for Contemporary art) Glasgow.
This year i accepted a number of teaching opportunities in performance and choreography within State funded University and higher education Institutions. Owing to the impressionability of students and the power at stake in knowledge transmission i have felt at times the almost moral responsibility involved in this decision.

As you may have realized when visiting our website, there has not been a continuous feeding-in of content. Before the start, the team had decided to first leave the text developments within an intranet before they get edited and mirrored onto the public site. In doing so, we would like to allow the materials to mature with time, so that they can develop a clear structure.
Message to the outside world
I just observed the striking discrepancy between the intensity of the discussions inside our think-tank and its accessibility for the outside world. The blog and the wiki turned out to be no appropriate tools to provide an insight into the processes happening here. So we're just figuring out a way to edit and transmit the enormous amount of material produced in here. Please be patient. It's not about ignorance or exclusivity, rather a question of how to get hold of a very intense process in a productive bubble.

with starting to present the arguments the smaller groups have raised in seperated sessions to each other the thing starts to become more to the point. the plenary sessions up to now end up a bit too much in compromising or missing each others arguments on purpose if this would create a potential of confrontation (for my taste). working out something / making choices and presenting them as well as the leftouts is pointing at the gaps and differences and attitudes more precisely. this should not be a lesson in compromising but a work out of... maybe (and hopefully) everybody here is looking and going for something else.

today i joined an open session of the work group on "specificity of choreographic practice". what seems interesting to me at this moment of mode05 is, that there are several attempts at defining or describing terms and processes that concern choreographic, dance and educational practices.
