MODE05

User-created institution is hot and production-centric institution is dead cold. The traditional system for institutions which relies on virtuosity, skill and different methods of preventing imitators are being overrun be more effective user-created modes of production.

On the 27 December a group of people come together in Reaim to discuss the opportunities of a an initiative of Jan Ritsema to create an "organization" for a new space of cultural production.

This web magazine offers a wide variety of articles on learning and knowledge production. A majority of the papers refer to management and organizational issues of learing but several pages reflect issues that were strongly discussed during Mode05.

This report was published on the initiative of Iaspis, Stockholm, in the autumn 2005 due recent developments and currents within cultural policy making.

During the discussions in Mode05 part of the group used a term that might be a little bit difficult to understand. I here submit a text by Toni Negri where he draws out a fundamental definition of "multitude". Multitude has comed to be a rather controversial term due the use of it in the book which Toni Negri and Micheal Heart published some couple of years a go "Empire".

Collectivity is something that takes place as we arbitrarily gather to take part in different forms of cultural activity such as looking at art.

Technology is the technical means people use to improve their surroundings. It is also a knowledge of using tools and machines to do tasks efficiently.
