L'Ecole du MAGASIN

In reference to Pirkko's text about the potential of using weblogs within education I'd like to refer to an educational model I came across during the mode05 preparations and which I think is quite interesting - not just in its structure, but also in how internet technology is used to make a process of research and knowledge production transparent and useful for other people.
L'école du Magasin is a ten-month professional formation in the field of curatorial practice, situated in the MAGASIN-Centre National d'Art Contemporain in Grenoble/France. Navigating through their website one can find all relevant information on the research they are into, outlines of seminars, essays written on their reasearch issue (which is "Les Gratuites" for the current session) as well as blogs with more personal reports and references. What is great is that they make their research traceable and give opportunity to connect to it.

The mode05 team plans to invite somebody from L'école du Magasin for a lecture during the mode05 meeting in March.

In my opinion these websites are very smart and artful, but
remember
Content is king
and
KISS (keep it small and simple)
Learn from google.com !

People have to understand, what is the intention
of a website and how to use it.
Especially in a school environment which is dealing
with artists and dancers and education models!
It has to be as simple as a mobile phone. And as hip as nike :-)
If it isn't - people don't want to use it ...
