mode05 attempts to articulate the need for educational programmes in Germany that offer a broad access to the field of knowledge surrounding dance and choreography.
Hosted by fabrik Potsdam and Kulturstiftung des Bundes, the mode05 meeting and research is based on the idea that contemporary educational models for dance and choreography MUST deal with a multitude of knowledge and the biggest possible amount of connections between different fields and approaches.
To facilitate a collaborative and broad process of rethinking dance/choreography education, mode05 will make use of certain internet technologies such as Wiki and tracking software as well as applying creative-commons licenses to texts and materials. Thus, mode05 aims at creating an initial, critical and open platform that contributes to an ongoing discussion and reflection on the issue of education in dance and choreography.
